Do Some Straight Men Watch Gay Porn?
Porn is commonly thought to be a female-specific form of entertainment whereas men tend to view material that aligns with their sexual orientation. Does that mean straight men see naked women, whereas gay men watch men having sex with men? In a new study published in Archives of Sexual Behavior, researchers looked into the preferences of gay, straight, and bi men for porn, helping to challenge this notion, as well as answering the question of whether men feel comfortable viewing adult entertainment that uses condoms. Some straight men watch gay porn as well as many other categories of porn.

A research study led by Martin J. Downing, surveying 821 men, examined their interest in pornography. According to their study, 55% of gay men admitted to watching porn featuring females of the opposite gender in the past six months. According to the study, 21% of straight men watched same-sex porn during this period. Male bisexuals, on the other hand, are most likely to consume gay pornography at about 96% (Very close to 98.3% of gay men say they watch gay porn) are most likely to consume straight pornography at about 88.3% (a little slower than 98.5% of straight men).
Downing says his team wasn’t surprised by the rate at which straight men watch gay porn. Cosmopolitan.com reports that sexual orientation is only one part of what makes people different and appealing. Downing believes homosexual men enjoy watching straight gay men performing live sex performances of porn stars, some people even enjoy things like gay Fortnite porn and that research has shown this tendency towards heterosexual and male performers. (Many gay men feel pressured to make themselves seem like “masculinities” in order to gain a partner.) Downing says the research shows that straight men are not as interested.

Identifying as heterosexual does not mean that men will not feel any attraction to or even engage in sexual activities with men (reminding everyone that being straight does not entail never feeling anything one way or any other) In terms of safe porn, the majority prefer their sex with condoms removed, but a majority don’t care whether it contains condoms or not.
There were similar findings for anal sex, as 65 percent of straight guys preferred vaginal sex without condoms, 31.7% were indifferent, and only 3.3% wanted condoms. Anal sex viewing was preferred to condom less by 64.4%, undecided by 29.2%, and preferred by 6.4% by gay men. Vaginal sex viewing was preferred by 50.5%, 45.1%, and 4.3% by gay men. Barrier methods don’t drastically affect dudes’ enjoyment of porn as thought.
